Car: Ford Cortina MK 2 1600E
Colour: Silver

History:
Bought from a scrap yard, it was far to good to break, this was my first complete strip down and rebuild, sourcing the parts was difficult but the end result was worthwhile, Interior was re sprayed with black vinylkote spray and came up really well, turns out that it was also one of the oldest surviving series 1 1600E's in the 1600E club at the time

Thoughts:
Used this car for about a year once it was completed, the heater was great, even the wife used to like it, the roar of the weber carb and the wind noise made it feel like you were going far faster than you really were, people always used to come up to me in petrol stations and car parks and tell me stories of when they used to own one too.

It might look rusty but it was infact quite solid

The Wife must have loved me then, there is no way she would let me build an engine on the dining room table now

One of the best bits is refitting all the cleaned parts
